ATS Thermal Bypass Valve Upgrade
Fitment: 2013-2018 Ram with 68RFE / AS69RC / 65RFE / 66RFE Transmissions
This is a must for any truck that has a 68-RFE or Aisin AS69RC transmission in it. Dodge decided to incorporate a transmission cooler by pass valve into the cooling system of the 68-RFE and Aisin AS69RC that bypasses the transmission cooler during cold operation.
The intent is to force the transmission to warm up faster, the reality is this bypass valve leaks and sticks in the bypass position in almost every case causing the transmission cooler flow to bypass the trans cooler essentially eliminating the trans cooler from the circuit. This causes a severe damage to the transmission over time.
The ATS cooler block replaces the faulty design eliminating the bypass valve and ensures 100 percent of the trans cooler flow is forced through the trans cooler. In every case this substantially reduces transmission temperatures.

Thermal Bypass Valve 2018 Power Wagon

Purchased this Thermal Bypass valve and installed it in my own driveway. The installation is straight forward. Before installing this valve, my transmission temperature was at 178 degree. After the install, the transmission temperature is at 138 degrees. A 40 degree difference, this product definitely makes a huge difference and should extend the life of my transmission. Also added an aftermarket transmission pan that adds 1 1/2 quarters. Furthermore, pumped out all the transmission fluid and added AMSOIL. What’s difference in the transmission and performance.
ATS customer service is second to none. Staff is prompt and very supportive. So far I am beyond satisfied with my purchase.
This item was installed in my 2018 Power Wagon with the 66rfe transmission.
I highly recommend this Thermal Bypass Valve.

10/10 do this before you bring it in to a shop!!

100% satisfied!! Bought a new to me 2016 2500 5.7 and almost instantly started throwing up low pressure codes and running high trans temp. After some research and hoping it wasn’t going to be a rebuild I found this from ats. Installation was pretty basic and I have a normal operating temperature of around 120. Look into this part and definitely order from them. Completely saved me from serious shop time and who knows what else. 10/10
