ATS 47RE APPS / TPS Signal Conditioner (aka "The Sponge")
Fitment: 1998½-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins 24V
 
This product, often referred to as "the sponge" in online forums, helps repair and prevent the hunting in and out of lock-up between 3rd and 4th gears. This is done by conditioning the TPS signal which allows the transmission to have better shift characteristics. The factory TCM tune is very sensitive. By adding the ATS APPS/TPS Signal Conditioner the signal to the TCM will be substantially less dramatic.

A true solution that works!!!

This product SOLVED my 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 24V 5.9L Cummins w/47RE transmission shifting problems.

Tranny was "hunting" excessively, which totally trashes the clutches in the transmission in short order, when ignored.

Shifting issues were noticed particularly when traveling at around 45 mph or so, and especially noticeable when there was a greater electrical demand on the batteries/alternator. (Lights on, heat on, radio on, etc.)

Also, if it hasn't been done already, re-routing the RH battery ground wire (located within the main harness) AWAY from the alternator will also help shifting issues, as an addition to installing this product.

This electrical noise filter "sponge" product works great!
I'd highly recommend installing one on EVERY 2nd Gen Dodge Ram with an "RE" series transmission.
Product does exactly what it's supposed to do, and is/was worth every penny.
